A journey to India, from the metropolitan chaos of Benares to the small villages scattered around the inland. INDIA MATRI BHUMI is intertwining documentary sequences and short fiction tales depicting several male characters in different stages of their lives: an elephant guide getting married, a technician who worked on the construction of the Irakud dam for seven years, an old farmer living a life of contemplation and saving a tiger, and lastly a man with a little monkey who dies in the dry heat of the desert.
