Reviews
"Mind-blowing, daring, setting free an emotion of singular power. (...) We get to hear the most simple and yet most profound words."
Antoine de Baecque, LIBÉRATION
"Mexico’s latest wunderkind (...) intensely exciting"
Ken Besinger, VARIETY
"Awe-inspiring simplicity and baroque impetuosity. (...) Battle in Heaven joins the ranks of a great cinema of liberation. The film is all the more convincing in that it is unforgiving in its depiction of the necessary force of evil and the fascination of death that goes together with human behaviour."
Jacques Mandelbaum, LE MONDE
"The most memorable of this year's films"
Nick James, SIGHT & SOUND
"Immensely striking and quite powerful."
Peter Brunette, SCREEN INTERNATIONAL
"Stuff of a genius"
Robert Horton, THE HERALD
"Magnified bodies and suffocating urban sprawl (...) Mr. Reygada’s film insists on the primacy of the sensual."
Dennis Lim, THE NY TIMES
